Week 10 Fantasy Football
The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
Sorry for the delay loyal readers, the owner and operator of this site were under contract negotiations. Being the big fantasy writer that I am, I demanded more money from management and wasn’t awarded it. So, being the pushover I am, I’ll have your weekly article ready and waiting by Friday, EVERY WEEK
. And in the words of the Joker, “Here….we…go.”
The Good:
Matt Cassell (@ Oakland) – Coming off a nice day where he threw for 262 yards and 2 scores against Jacksonville, Cassell is looking more and more comfortable with Todd Haley’s offense. Plus, with Larry Johnson no longer on the Chiefs, I look for them to throw even more than usual this week against the Raiders.
Donald Driver (Dallas) – Most people who took a chance on Driver have been pleasantly surprised. This old veteran has had some big games this year, and is coming off of a four catch for 71 yard and a touchdown performance last week. I look for Dallas to win this game, but the Cowboy’s secondary is still inconsistent. Look for Aaron Rodgers to have to throw a lot this weekend, and he’ll be looking Driver’s way.
Derrick Mason (@ Cleveland) – He gets a porous Cleveland secondary on Monday night. While the Browns won’t be able to stop the run or the pass, look for Flacco to have a solid day against Cleveland. And when Flacco throws, he will look Mason’s way early and often.
The Bad:
Lee Evans (@ Tennessee) – I don’t like the Bills offense. Like, anything about it. So Evans might be okay if he finds the end zone, but if he doesn’t, he’s a below average second option this week. Just like he is most weeks.
Miles Austin (@ Green Bay) – Ok Miles Austin is a stud, and he is quickly emerging as one of Tony Romo’s favorite targets. But defenses are starting to realize this as well. Against Philadelphia last week, Austin only had one catch. While this catch was for a 49 yard touchdown, I think this is the week that Austin fails to find the end zone.
Mike Sims-Walker (@ New York Jets) – Stud. Had a great week last week and is without a doubt the number one option for the Jaguars passing attack. But the Jets pass defense is good, and he gets Darrell Revis guarding him. Tough matchup for Mike, but there are better weeks ahead for Sims-Walker.
The Ugly:
Brady Quinn (Baltimore) – Why not? The lack of decision making from Mangini continues as Quinn will start against Baltimore on Monday night at home. The Browns are coming off a bye and in desperate need of some offense. Hopefully he can deliver.
Ladell Betts (Denver) – Good news: He’s starting in place of the injured Clinton Portis. Bad news: He gets the Denver defense. Worth a shot if he can find the end zone.
Laurence Maroney (@ Indianpolis) – He seems to be getting more and more carries for the Patriots. If the Patriots decide to run the ball near the goal line, Maroney is most likely to get that chance to punch it home.
