Roy G. Biv Anyone?
One of the only things I remember from 5th grade is Roy G. Biv. Red Orange Yellow Green Blue Indigo Violet. For some reason, this photographer/Photoshopper decided to add a little extra. Still, it makes for a beautiful landscape and is now my current desktop.
A quick story for you guys…
In 5th grade, we were playing a review game for science class. We were doing Around the World, where 1 player moves around the classroom in a head-to-head question matchup against the next student. If the standing player answers first, he moves on the the next student. If the sitting player gets it right, that player moves to the next person and the former standing player sits. When you get back to your original seat, you win. I had beat the person who was standing when they came to my chair, and was just about all the way around the room on the same turn when I got to Danielle.
She was not really liked in the class, but I felt bad for her. But I wasn’t gonna let her get in my way of the victory in 1 turn. The question was, “What does Roy G. Biv stand for?” Instead of starting to name the colors and stumble my way through, I took a second to think of all the colors, then spit it out. By the time I started, Danielle was on yellow, but I went straight through, sort of like redorangeyellowgreenblueindigoviolet. I finished before she finished and was awarded the victory. I ended up getting back to my chair on the same turn and was crowned the winner. For that win, I was given a book of stickers of military airplanes, because the teacher, Elisha Douglas, had gotten them for me since I was writing my research paper on military aircraft.
Post Script - One of the sweet things about the images on my site is that you can click on the image and it will pop out full size in the same window.

I like how they pop out as well. Too bad you made that story up. I need an actual source like Justin or Anthony to verify.

I’m in Chem class and our professor told us that about 20 years ago, Indigo was voted out of the rainbow since it wasn’t distinct enough. Therefore, it’s now ROY G BV. All of us still learned Roy G. Biv since it took a while for the old textbooks to get out of circulation, but it’s now Roy G. BV
